  • Maternity Leave in Finland is up to 105 paid days. The Mother has to take 30 days before the birth date and 75 days after the birth of the child. During this time, leave is paid by the Social Security Fund (calculation of indemnities will depend on the salary).
  • Paternity Leave is 54 days, but only 18 days can be taken at the same time as the Mother’s maternity leave, and the rest can be taken until the child turns 2 years old. The salary will also paid by the Social Security Fund.
  • Parental Leave is up to 158 days in Finland and can be split between Parents immediately once the maternity leave is over.
  • Sick Leave is covered for up to 300 days per year. The employer will pay 100% of the salary during the first 10 days then it will be covered at 40 to 60% by the Social Security fund.
  • Statutory Leave is 30 days minimum per year up.
  • Bank holidays: there are 13 national days in 2023 in Finland.
